1. Aminul Islam - Dhaka, November 2000

In November 2000, Bangladesh created history as they hosted India in Dhaka to make their debut in Test cricket. The Bangladesh skipper Naimur Rahman won the toss and decided to bat first in the historic game. Losing three batters Mehrab Hossain (4), Shahriar Hossain (12), and Habibul Bashar (71) on 110 runs, Bangladesh failed to get a decent start.

However, the middle-order batter Aminul Islam led the charge thereafter in the debut match by playing a superhit knock of 145 runs. With his important innings, he not only helped to stabilse Bangladesh to post 400 runs in the first innings but also became the first Bangladesh batter to notch up a century on a Test debut.

Later, in the match, India replied with 429 runs with the crucial contribution of Sunil Joshi’s 92 runs and Sourav Ganguly’s 84 runs. In the end, Islam's impactful knock couldn’t do wonders as the team got bowled out for paltry 91 runs in the second innings and got hammered by nine wickets at the hands of the Men in Blue.
