Bangladesh vs India ODI series: India's Predicted Playing XI
The India tour of Bangladesh will kick-start with the ODIs on December 4 and the action will move to Tests from December 14.
4. Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer has been a regular feature for the Men in Blue in the white-ball circuit. He has featured in 35 ODIs and scored 1379 runs at a strike rate of 98.85. When it comes to the shortest format, the 27-year-old has scored 1043 runs in 49 matches at a strike rate of 135.98.
Iyer reads the game situation very well and builds his innings accordingly. His magnificent knock of 80 runs in 76 deliveries in the first game of the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand was a prime example of his batting might. This is the reason why the Mumbai-born has been India’s go-to man for the number three slot in Kohli’s absence. However, with the latter available for the Bangladesh tour, the team management is likely to slot him in at number four.
The Indian batter has been quite phenomenal in the 50-over format this calendar year, having scored 566 runs in 13 games at an average of 62.88. Given the kind of form he is in, it would not be a surprise if he plays some blistering knocks in Bangladesh.
