In the ongoing BBL 2022-23, Michale Neser entered the list of hat-trick achievers with his scintillating bowling performance in a losing cause. In the clash against Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat, Neser played out of his skin and outplayed Renegades' top-order batters with his lethal bowling.
Earlier, Brisbane Heat, after winning the toss elected to bat first. With the efforts of Jimmy Pierson's 45* off 30 balls, Matt Renshaw's 29 off 29 deliveries, and Sam Billings’s 25 runs off 19 deliveries, Heat posted 137/8. However, to defend the low total, the Heat bowlers had to deliver an above-par show.
From the start of Renegades' innings, Neser looked dominating as he sent Sam Harper back to the pavilion on his first delivery. Later in the last ball of the first over, Neser also clinched the wicket of Jake Fraser-McGurk. Bowling his second over in the match, Neser picked up a hat-trick dismissing Nic Maddinson and Jonathan Wells too on his first two deliveries. Eventually, the match was won by the Renegades comfortably, but the 32-year-old’s terrific bowling display will be remembered for a long time.

Recently, Michael Neser while playing for Brisbane Heat created an amazing feat as he claimed a hat-trick against Melbourne Renegades. The achievement helped Neser to deliver the 9th hat-trick of the league and join the elite list of some renowned international bowlers. 
Although his team couldn't emerge victorious in the match, the bowler with his courageous performance won the hearts of many fans. In the past, there have been eight more instances when a hat-trick has been claimed by bowlers in the league.
<h2>1. Xavier Doherty for Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Thunder (2012-13)</h2>

In the 2012-13 edition of the league, Hobart Hurricanes clashed with Sydney Thunder on December 23, 2012. Losing the toss, Hurricanes were put into bat by Thunder at Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
 However, riding on Ricky Ponting’s solid 63 runs off 45 deliveries and the rapid knocks from Owais Shah (26* runs off 16 balls) and skipper George Bailey’s 30* off 13 balls, the hosts posted a competitive total of 177 on the board at the loss of four wickets.
While defending the score, Hurricanes got rid of the opening pair of Chris Gayle (13 off 14 deliveries) and Mark Cosgrove (19 off 16 deliveries) early. But with some stable partnerships, the visitors strived to script a comeback. Till the 16th over of the second innings, the match was in the hands of the Hurricanes but Simon Keen with his swift innings endeavoured to build pressure on the hosts.
However,<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/former-australian-world-cup-winner-xavier-doherty-turns-carpenter/"> Xavier Doherty</a> took the charge of demolishing Thunder's batting line-up. On the second delivery of the 17th over, Doherty claimed the dangerous-looking Keen, who scored 24 off just 12 balls. 
On the next two deliveries, the Tasmanian cricketer sent Ryan Carters (10 runs off 10 balls), and Cameron Borgas (0) back to the pavilion and became the first bowler to pick up a hat-trick in the league. In the end, by virtue of his crucial contribution, the Hurricanes registered a comprehensive victory by 30 runs.

In the 23rd match of the sixth edition of the tournament, Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat locked horns with each other at The Gabba, Brisbane. Heat captain Brendon McCullum won the toss and invited Scorchers to bat first. Riding on Michael Klingers’s 81 off 54 balls, the visitors gave a target of 157 to Heat.
Coming out to defend the fighting total, Perth bowlers Mitchell Johnson and Jhye Richardson came hard on the hosts. Both bowlers dismantled Heat's top order by getting quick wickets of Jimmy Peirson (2 runs off 3 deliveries), Sam Heazlett (8 off 5 balls), and Brendon McCullum (15 off 10 balls) on 26 runs. Marred by early blows, the middle-order batters failed to keep Brisbane in the chase.
Bowling in the 18th over of Heat's innings, Andrew Tye was looking to wrap up the game soon, and on the last delivery of his third over, he took the wicket of Jack Wildermuth. In the last over of the match, Tye returned and got Mitchell Swepson caught by Tim Bresnan on his first delivery. 
Taking two wickets on two consecutive deliveries, the Western Australia pacer was looking to clinch a hat-trick and create history. On the second ball of his last over, he dismissed Mark Steketee and became the second bowler to achieve the feat.

Playing against Sydney Sixers, in the fifth game of the league at the SCG, Andrew Tye took another hat-trick and became the only bowler to bag two hat-tricks in the history of the league.
In the contest, skipper of the Scorchers won the toss and chose to field first. From the start, the Scorchers dominated the game due to amazing displays from their bowlers. With the joint efforts of Mitchell Johnson, Jhye Richardson, David Willey, and Andrew Tye, Perth controlled the match. However, at the end of the Sixers’ innings, Tye became the most impactful bowler for the team with four wickets.
Taking the scalps of Sean Abbott, Steve O’Keefe, and Daniel Sams on three back-to-back balls, he ended the Sixers' innings for 132 in 18.4 overs and also accomplished becoming the bowler with the most hat-tricks in the tournament. At the end of the game, his valuable spell helped Scorchers register a convincing victory by six wickets.

He wreaked havoc by picking up four wickets. Helping his team defend a low total of 135, Rashid with his determination made the game intriguing.
The star bowler also notched up a hat-trick by removing James Vince, Jack Edwards, and Jordan Silk. However, Sixers won the game with two wickets in hands and eight balls remaining, but Rashid with his spell showed what he is capable of doing with the ball on his day.

Rauf created pressure on the visitors and picked up a hat-trick. With his tremendous bowling, Stars’ saw the back of Matthew Gilkes, Callum Ferguson, and Daniel Sams. The terrific spell not only gave him recognition in the league but also helped him to gain recognition in Pakistan.

In the 36th match of the 2021-22 BBL, Sydney Thunder hammered Perth Scorchers by six wickets (D/L method) with an amazing performance from one of their experienced players. Batting first after winning the toss, the Scorchers didn’t have a great outing with the bat as Thunder bowlers tied their hands with their spectacular bowling.
Things got worse for them when Gurinder Sandhu dismissed Colin Munro on the last ball of the 12th over. After that wicket, they lost Ashton Turner too to Saqib Mahmood but the experienced Sandhu emerged as the bigger threat. 
The tall pacer continued his attack in the 16th over and completed his hat-trick by scalping the wickets of Aaron Hardie and Laurie Evans. Sandhu’s superb spell played an important role in helping his team restrict the Scorchers to a mere 133/9. In the end, Sydney Thunder handed a cracking defeat to their opponents and Sandhu also became the Player of the Match for his solid bowling display.

Boyce returned to bowl the ninth over of the game and destroyed the batting line-up of the Thunder. Picking up the wickets of Jason Sangha, Alex Ross, and Daniel Sams in back-to-back deliveries, Boyce got a hat-trick and brought his team back into the game.
