He has made it into the best T20I XI, representing an associate nation. Waseem played 21 matches while opening the innings for UAE and made 806 runs. His runs came at a strike rate of 163.15, and he made six scores of fifty or more. Waseem’s highest score in T20Is in 2023 was 91. He hit 74 fours and 51 sixes for UAE in T20Is in 2023. 2. Yashasvi Jaiswal (IND) India’s young Yashasvi Jaiswal made his T20I debut in 2023 and played 15 games. He made 430 runs with a strike rate of 159.25 and averaged 33.07. He hit three fifties and one century for India, apart from hitting 50 fours and 22 sixes. Jaiswal was also part of the Indian team that won the Asian Games gold in Hangzhou, where he also hit his maiden T20I century. 3. Suryakumar Yadav (C-IND) The no.1 ranked T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav played 18 T20Is in 2023 year and made 733 runs. His average was 48.86 and his strike rate was 155.95. Yadav continued to wow the audience with his audacious shots as he garnered two centuries and five fifties in this year. He hit 43 sixes and 61 fours. Suryakumar also captained India to a 4-1 T20I series win over Australia at home. 4. Nicholas Pooran (WI-WK) Nicholas Pooran had a very good year in T20Is in 2023 for West Indies. Lighter after stepping down as captain in ODIs and T20Is, Pooran hammered 384 runs in 13 matches with a strike rate of 162.71. He hit two fifties and recently helped West Indies beat England 3-2 in a T20I series at home. He hit 26 fours and 27 sixes in 2023 in T20Is. 5. Sikandar Raza (ZIM) In 12 T20Is in 2023, Sikandar Raza showcased his immense talent for Zimbabwe. He scored 515 runs with six fifties to his name and scored his runs at a strike rate of 150.14. His best score was 82*. He was also brilliant with the ball. Raza picked 17 wickets with a best of 4/24. He was also named the permanent Zimbabwe captain in T20Is. Shakib Al Hasan (BAN) Shakib just played eight T20Is in 2023 for Bangladesh but had a good impact. He made 139 runs with a strike rate of 133.65. With the ball, Shakib took 12 wickets with a best of 5/22 at an economy of 6.12. He will be in action shortly as after having led Bangladesh in the ODI World Cup, Shakib took a break from the game to recharge. Ravi Bishnoi (IND) India leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi had a huge impact in T20Is in 2023. In 11 matches he played, Bishnoi starred with 18 wickets with a best of 3/24. His economy was 7.20 and Bishnoi kept all the batters in a bind. His best came in the T20I series against Australia, where he picked nine wickets in five matches and was the Player of the Series for India. Arshdeep Singh (IND) Arshdeep Singh was the premier bowler for India in T20Is in 2023. He played 21 games and picked 26 wickets. His economy was 9.26 and his strike rate was 15.84. Taskin Ahmed (BAN) Bangladeshi pacer Taskin Ahmed played only eight T20Is in 2023. But he still managed 16 wickets at an economy of 7.36 and strike rate of 11.2. Taskin’s best bowling figures was 4/16 and he will be full of energy as the Bangladesh board has managed his workload extremely well.
