<p>He led Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and for the latter, he won a couple of titles in 2012 and 2014. In the cash-rich league’s 2012 edition, Gambhir led Knight Riders to a title win for the first time, snatching the coveted trophy from MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK).</p>
<p>In 2014, Knight Riders lifted the trophy again under Gambhir’s leadership, beating Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) in the final at the M. Chinnawamy Stadium. Thus far, he is the only captain to win the IPL trophy multiple times along with the CSK skipper MS Dhoni and Mumbai Indians’ (MI) captain Rohit Sharma.</p>

<p>Clive Lloyd captained the West Indies from 1974 to 1985 and under his leadership, the Caribbean side played an exceptional brand of cricket and got unprecedented success. During the 70s and 80s, the West Indies were the most difficult side to face for the opponents. The presence of fear in the opponents could be credited to the West Indies’ intrepid playing style and Lloyd’s fierce captaincy skills.</p>
<p>In 1975, when the inaugural One-Day International (ODI) World Cup was played, the Windies side ended up as champions without losing any game throughout the tournament. Lloyd, the skipper of the side, led his team from the front, scoring 158 runs in three innings of five matches at a superb strike rate of 104.63.</p>
<p>The Caribbean side retained the trophy in the 1979 World Cup and this time again, they remained unbeaten under Lloyd. He and his men thrashed hosts England in the final at the iconic Lord’s and clinched the trophy. The former Windies stalwart is the only skipper along with Australia’s former captain Ricky Ponting to win the ODI World Cup trophy consecutively as a skipper.</p>

<p>Dwayne Bravo served the West Indies cricket efficiently for 17 years from 2004 to 2021. As an all-rounder, he won a lot of games for his side with his batting and bowling. Alongside international cricket, he is also an illustrious name in the T20 leagues such as IPL and Caribbean Premier League (CPL).</p>
<p>In CPL, he is the most successful bowler, becoming the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 124 wickets in 91 innings of 97 matches at an economy of 8.69. Along with that, he is also the most successful captain in CPL when it comes to winning trophies. The star West Indies player clinched the distinguished trophy four times in his CPL career.</p>
<p>For Trinbago Knight Riders, Bravo won three trophies between 2015 to 2018. In Trinbago’s maiden title triumph in 2015, the veteran grabbed 28 wickets in 13 matches at an economy of 7.34 and became the leading wicket-taker in the edition. In 2021, he showed his leadership mettle for St Kitts &amp; Nevis Patriots, handing them their maiden title.</p>

<p>Ricky Ponting was one of the most dangerous players in the Australian team in the 2000s as he not only gave effective results to his team with the bat, but also exuded confidence in his captaincy. In 2002, when he became captain, no one must have thought that he will become Australia’s most successful skipper in ODIs.</p>
<p>Riding on his captaincy and batting brilliance, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/twitter-reactions-cricket/twitter-reactions-mitchell-starcs-four-fer-keeps-australia-on-top-at-the-oval/" title="Australia" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Australia</strong></a> won the 2003 and 2007 editions of the ODI World Cup. In 2003, Australia vanquished India by 135 runs and defended the title successfully under Ponting. In the final game, the skipper took India’s bowling unit to the cleaners, hitting an unbeaten 140 off just 121 deliveries. &nbsp;</p>
<p>In 2007, he created history by winning another title for Australia in the World Cup in the West Indies. With this jaw-dropping success, Ponting equated Clive Lloyd's record, who has won consecutive World Cup trophies. Ponting’s captaincy success in the 2003 and 2007 World Cup installments also made him the most successful Australian skipper in ODI World Cups.</p>
<p>Apart from World Cups, Australia also won a couple of Champions Trophy editions under Ponting. In the 2006 Champions Trophy held in India, the Men in Yellow beat the West Indies and got their hands on the prestigious Champions Trophy for the first time. In 2009, Ponting led Australia to the second Champions Trophy victory. This time, the Aussies beat New Zealand in the final in Centurion.</p>

In 2020, MI won their record fifth title under Rohit, and with this marvellous achievement, he became the first IPL captain to clinch five trophies.</p>
<p>In 2013, when Rohit took over the reins, MI’s campaign in the sixth IPL edition was in jeopardy. With three wins and three losses, the sword was hanging over their heads. However, Rohit became the captain and changed the fate of the team, and won the trophy with his sensational batting and leadership. This was Mumbai’s maiden title win in the T20 tournament.</p>
<p>After the 2013 victory, Rohit led MI to title victories in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 as well. Out of their five IPL final appearances from 2013 to 2020, they encountered CSK thrice and won all of them under Rohit. Along with IPL titles, Rohit also made MI champions in the Champions League T20 in 2013.</p>

After 2011, the veteran guided India to the 2013 Champions Trophy win with his leadership skills.</p>
<p>Along with international cricket, he is also a prominent captaincy figure in IPL. In 2010, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the IPL and Champions League T20 titles under the dashing wicket-keeper batter. After the amazing 2010 season, CSK dominated IPL under Dhoni and registered their second title triumph.
