The ninth edition of the Champions Trophy came to an end on Sunday, March 9, as India defeated New Zealand in a thrilling final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

All-rounders - Azmatullah Omarzai, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner

Azmatullah Omarzai impressed with both bat and ball in the marquee event. He finished with 126 from three innings at an average of 42 and a strike rate of 104.14. With the ball, he bagged seven wickets from three games, including a five-for against England to contribute to a famous win.
Axar Patel played a key role for India in the tournament, especially with the bat in hand. He was promoted above the likes of KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya. Batting at No. 5, Axar showcased his potential by chipping in with some useful knocks under pressure. With the ball, he bagged five wickets from as many matches and didn't give too many freebies to the batters.
Mitchell Santner led New Zealand for the first time in an ICC event and did a pretty good job. The left-arm spinner finished with nine wickets from five matches at an average of 26.67 and a strike rate of 33.33. He picked up three crucial wickets against South Africa in the semi-final and turned the game on its head. Santner did not get too many opportunities with the bat in the tournament, as he scored 38 runs from three outings at an average of 19.
