India won a famous grand finale against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, March 09. The Indian captain Rohit Sharma was emphatic in the run chase, where his side successfully went past 252-run target set by the Kiwis, courtesy of his 76 from 83 deliveries. Leading from the front, Rohit received Player of the Match award for his stellar innings, laced with seven fours and three maximums.
Rohit became the latest recipient of the Player of the Match award in the history of the Champions Trophy finals, which had its inaugural season in 1998. He also became the second Indian player to win the award after Ravindra Jadeja received the same for his counterattacking all-round performances in the finals vs England in the 2013 edition, where India won for the first time.
