2. David Warner
David Warner is playing his last World Cup with confidence. The left-handed batter struggled to be among the runs in the first three matches but in the game against Pakistan at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, he regained his form. Luck favoured Babar Azam in the important match as he won the toss and invited the Aussie side to bat first.
On Bengaluru’s batting surface, the veteran player gave a perfect start to his team along with his opening partner Mitchell Marsh. Warner was dropped on his score of 10 by Usama Mir on Sheheen Shah’s delivery in the fifth over of the contest. After getting a chance, Warner didn't show mercy on Pakistan and hit 163 runs off just 124 deliveries.
The 37-year-old also received the Player of the Match award for his innings after his team’s convincing 62-run win. Australia hammered the Orange Army in the last game of the week and Warner came heavily on bowlers again. This time, he went back to the pavilion after contributing 104 runs to his team off 93 deliveries.
