New Zealand vice-captain Tom Latham is one of the most bankable players in the New Zealand team who has the capability to deliver with his bat, leadership, and wicketkeeping gloves. In captain Kane Williamson’s absence, Latham handled New Zealand’s ODI team finely as a skipper.

Williamson didn’t show up in the first two matches of the 2023 World Cup, due to his knee injury and Latham led the team magnificently with his captaincy. The New Zealand team management will expect Latham to make huge contributions in this tournament to help the Kiwis achieve the aim of clinching their maiden World Cup trophy.

In the batting department, Latham’s role will be to be active in the lower middle order but apart from batting, he will also be essential for the Black Caps as a wicketkeeper. Latham’s extraordinary keeping skills made him the most successful wicketkeeper in the 2019 World Cup, with 21 dismissals in 10 games. This time, he will strive to do wonders for his team again behind the wickets.
