Matthew Hayden didn’t have any good luck with dogs either. In 2006, while nursing a broken finger, Matthew Hayden suffered a gashed ankle after being attacked by a dog. The opener had revealed that he was on a jog when the canine attacked him and went after his ankle.

Tests revealed there was no ankle tendon or ligament damage. Hayden said the wound, about five centimetres long, had to be kept open for several days to minimize the risk of infection before being stitched. Hayden jokingly said that it wasn’t his week.
