Rohit Sharma has been going through a lean patch in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since the 2022 season. In the last couple of seasons, he looked completely out of rhythm and came under fierce criticism. His ineffective performance probably played a part in his removal from the captaincy role for Mumbai Indians (MI) and the appointment of Hardik Pandya as a skipper of the side.

Following the 2023 IPL failure, Rohit has brought massive changes in his batting style. He has adopted an aggressive batting attitude which got him success in the 2023 World Cup for Team India. With the change in Rohit’s batting style, his supporters will be eager to know how the veteran will perform in this year’s IPL.

Here are four reasons why IPL 2024 might not be the last for Rohit Sharma:

4. Rohit’s current form might give a new life to his career in MI

Rohit Sharma is in incredible form before the commencement of the 2024 IPL. In white-ball cricket, the right-handed opener has looked merciless against quality bowling units for the last few months. In his last T20 International (T20I), he hit a scintillating century against Afghanistan at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The spunky opener's recent performance must have skyrocketed his morale and he will endeavour to showcase his batting mettle in the cash-rich league, as well. In case, he sees himself among the runs, this season, MI might retain him as a batter for the next edition of the tournament.
