1. Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib Al Hasan will be an essential part of Bangladesh’s squad in the World Cup coming ahead. For the last 17 years, he has fortified his team with his all-round performances. Notching up 7132 runs in 232 matches at a strike rate of 82.66, Shakib is the third-leading run-scorer for his team in the One-day format.
While with the ball, he has picked up 301 scalps in 266 innings at an economy of 4.46. These numbers clearly indicate that the veteran has delivered his best consistently to the department in all departments of the game. In the 2019 World Cup, he became the leading run-scorer for Bangladesh with 606 runs in eight matches at a strike rate of 96.03.
Talking about his overall numbers in the coveted ODI tournament, the 36-year-old has featured in four installments from 2007 to 2019, in which he has played 29 games and racked up 1146 runs and 34 wickets for his team. Considering his age, the 2023 World Cup could become his last appearance in the ODI format. Currently, Shakib is performing exceptionally in all departments, and noticing that he might look to end his career on a high note.
