Cricket is one of the most watched sports in the world. In Asian countries such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, it has earned a lot of fans in the last three decades. Its popularity among children and teenagers is also unprecedented as they follow this sport with sheer passion.

Interestingly enough, along with cricket, a large majority of kids and teenagers follow cartoon shows as well. Sometimes, kids also compare their favourite cartoon characters with cricketers they are fond of. Keeping that in mind, let’s compare some illustrious cricketers and famous characters who share similarities.

Here are some cricketers who resemble famous cartoon characters

Kieron Pollard was known for his superb all-round excellence in international cricket. The star player served the West Indies team for 15 years and during his stint, he racked up 1569 runs and 42 wickets in 101 T20 Internationals (T20Is), at a strike rate of 135.14. With these numbers, he is the fourth-leading run-getter for the Windies side in cricket’s shortest format.

Pollard was known for his aggressive batting attitude in white-ball cricket. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), he played for Mumbai Indians (MI) from 2010 to 2022 and during these 12 years, he won a lot of games for the franchise with his fierce batting style. Along with his formidable batting attitude, Pollard is also known for his hot-tempered behaviour.

Back in the 2014 IPL edition, he had an infamous fight with Australian pacer, Mitchell Starc, who was playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) back then. In a heated argument, Pollard was about to throw his bat at Starc. Noting the Trinidad-born cricketer’s anger, one can compare him with Gian, one of the pivotal characters of the famous cartoon show ‘Doraemon’. Like Pollard, Gian is also known for dominating people around him.
