2. Mohammed Shami in for Mohammed Siraj
Mohammed Siraj has been a striking force with the ball in the international arena. He has rattled batters with her swing and wreaked havoc with the ball. In the longest of the game, the 28-year-old has picked up 47 scalps in 18 games at an average of 31.29.
However, Siraj has been a pale shadow of his vintage self in the ongoing Test series against Australia. He has managed to take only a wicket in three games. On the other hand, Umesh Yadav, who played his first game of the series in the recently concluded third match was brilliant with the ball in the first innings and took a sensational three-wicket haul.
Due to Siraj’s poor outings, the team management could drop him from the playing XI for the fourth Test and play Mohammed Shami at his expense. Shami has been in top form in the series thus far, picking up seven wickets in two matches at a stellar average of 14.42. The veteran pacer was rested for the third game and could return to the team for the final match of the series.
