IND vs BAN T20I Series 2024: Ranking top five performers

<p>India started the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh as overwhelming favourites and they lived up to their potential to register a clean sweep. The Bangla Tigers failed to provide much of a fight as Suryakumar Yadav won his sixth straight game as India's full-time captain in the shortest format.</p>
<p>India won the first game in Gwalior by seven wickets as they chased down a 128-run target in just 11.5 overs. The second encounter was held in Delhi and it saw the Indian team scoring 221/9 before restricting Bangladesh to 135/9. The third and final match was played in Hyderabad and it turned out to be a record-shattering affair as the Men in Blue amassed 297/6, the highest score in T20Is by a Test-playing nation, before keeping Bangladesh down to 164/7.</p>
<p>During the series, several cricketers produced fantastic performances. Even some Bangladeshi cricketers managed to do well but they didn't come to the party as a group. Here, CricTracker ranks the top five performers from the recently-concluded series.</p>

He missed out in the first two games, scoring 12 (18) and 2 (6), respectively. However, the 23-year-old showed his grit and determination in the final game as he scored a valiant half-century.</p>
<p>Chasing an improbable target of 298 was always going to be difficult for Bangladesh, who not known for their big-hitting prowess. However, their fans would have hoped for their players to put up at least some fight. Litton Das scored a brisk 42 but Hridoy remained unbeaten on 63 off 42. The right-handed batter beltered five fours and three sixes in the Bangladeshi innings.</p>

<p>The youngster finally got his chance to play for the national team and he didn't disapppoint.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-players/nitish-kumar-reddy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Nitish Kumar Reddy </strong></a>bowled a couple of overs and conceded 17 runs in the first game. With the bat, he scored an unbeaten 15-ball 16 to take India to victory.</p>
<p>However, his best performance came in the second T20I, where he contributed with both bat and ball.&nbsp;After India lost three wickets inside the powerplay, Nitish forged a crucial 108-run stand off 49 balls with Rinku Singh and brought his team back on track. The Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder hit 74 off 34 balls, smashing seven fours and four sixes. He also shared the new ball with Arshdeep Singh and bagged a couple of wickets in his four-over spell. In the third game, Reddy scalped a solitary wicket after falling for a golden cuck.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-players/sanju-samson/"><strong>Sanju Samson</strong></a> has often been criticised for not grabbing his opportunities. He was once again flattering to deceive as he couldn't stamp his authority in the first couple of matches. However, things changed drastically in the third T20I as he smashed the second-fastest century by an Indian batter in T20Is.</p>
<p>In the first T20I, Samson looked in good nick as he smashed four boundaries en route to a 19-ball 29. However, he couldn't convert his quickfire start into a substantial score. Even in the second T20I, the Kerala cricketer hit a couple of fours before being dismissed for a seven-ball 10. He finally lived up to his lofty standards by amassing a stunning 111 off 47 balls in the final T20I, slamming 11 fours and eight sixes.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-players/varun-chakravarthy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Varun Chakaravarthy</strong></a> made a memorable comeback to the Indian team after three years after producing consistent performances in domestic cricket and in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker in the series, scalping five wickets from three games at an average of 14.60 and a strike rate of 14.40.</p>
<p>Chakaravarthy conceded runs at an economy rate of just 6.08 on pitches which were offering very little for the spinners. However, the 33-year-old stuck to his strengths and made life difficult for the Bangladeshi batters with his mystery spin. Chakaravarthy's return to form bodes well for India as he adds a different dimension to the team's spin-bowling resources.</p>
