India will lock horns with England in the fourth T20I of the five-match series at MCA Stadium in Pune on Friday, January 31, 2025. The Men in Blue took a 2-1 lead in the series after winning the first two games, before the visitors hit back hard in the third T20I and won the game quite convincingly.
In the first match at Kolkata, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side restricted the opposition to 132 runs, later chasing it under 13 overs with seven wickets to spare. In the second match, the hosts once again put up a strong bowling performance and later registered a narrow two-wicket win. However, the English team didn't let India record their third straight win, as they restricted the hosts to 145/9, managing a 26-run win.
Let us take a look at three players from the India team who can make a huge impact in the fourth T20I:
3. Varun Chakaravarthy
Mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has been in brilliant form throughout the series. The 33-year-old is currently the highest wicket-taker of the series with 10 scalps at an economy of 7.08. After a match-winning spell of 3/23 in the series opener at Kolkata, Chakaravarthy continued to trouble the English batter in the next two games. In Chennai, he ended with figures of 2/38, picking the crucial wickets of Harry Brook and Jamie Overton.
The spinner's prized moment came in the previous T20I in Rajkot, registering his second five-wicket haul. In his quota of four overs, he conceded just 24 runs and dismissed Jos Buttler, Jamie Smith, Overton, Brydon Carse, and Jofra Archer, respectively. Despite India losing the game, Chakaravarthy was awarded the Player of the Match award.
