India and New Zealand are all set to take the stage for a white-ball series on the former’s turf from January 18. The action will kick-start with the ODIs on January 18 and the caravan will then move towards the T20Is from January 27. Hardik Pandya will lead the Indian side in the shortest format while Mitchell Santner will be his counterpart for the Kiwis.
Though the two teams will be missing some of their key players in the T20I leg, one can expect nothing more than an exhilarating contest. Both India and New Zealand have many gun T20 players in their arsenal but there are certain cricketers that might garner a lot of eyeballs in the forthcoming series.

Here are five players to watch out for in the T20I series:
5. Washington Sundar
Washington Sundar has been a proven performer for India in the white-ball circuit. He has featured in 32 T20Is and bagged 26 wickets at an economy of 7.33. On the batting front, the ace all-rounder has scored 47 runs at a strike rate of 142.42. Talking about the ODIs, he has picked up 14 wickets in 12 games and scored 212 runs at a strike rate of 86.88.
The 23-year-old was exceptional with the ball in the ODI series against Bangladesh, picking up six wickets in three games at an economy of 3.50. Also, he scored 67 runs in those outings. However, India decided to play Axar Patel ahead of Sundar as the spin all-rounder in the T20I series against Sri Lanka, and the former delivered the goods with both bat and ball, smashing 117 runs in three matches and taking three wickets.
Given Axar will not feature in the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand due to family commitments, Sundar will have a golden chance to show his all-round might. The Chennai-born would be eager to set the stage ablaze with his performances and make a strong case for himself.
