1. Harpreet Singh Bhatia
Harpreet Singh Bhatia has been a run-bank in the Indian domestic circuit. The 31-year-old has featured in 84 List-A matches and notched up 3023 runs at an average of 45.11. Talking about the shortest format, he has scored 2202 runs in 77 games at a strike rate of 124.54.
Harpreet set the 2022 season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy on fire with his spectacular performances. He made seven appearances for Chhattisgarh and scored 516 runs at a strike rate of 94.33. Given the ace batter was in a rich vein of form, Punjab Kings signed him at the IPL 2023 auction.
However, given the composition of the side, the southpaw might not get a game in the coming edition. The Punjab franchise is likely to open with skipper Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow and if either of them is available, the think tank could ponder over including Prabhsimran Singh, who has been phenomenal in the domestic arena and has been associated with PBKS since IPL 2019.
