4. Shai Hope
Shai Hope has been a proven performer for West Indies in the ODIs. He has been the rock at the top of the order and played the anchor role with perfection. The 29-year-old has featured in 104 games in the 50-overs format and scored 4308 runs at an average of 48.95.
However, the wicketkeeper-batter has not been able to crack the code in the shortest format. Hope has managed to score just 1231 runs in 63 matches and that too at a mediocre strike rate of 118.93. Also, the ace batter’s performance in T20Is has been pretty under par as he has scored 304 runs in 19 games at a strike rate of 121.11. Since the top-order batter has not been able to make a mark in the T20 arena, he might not find a bidder at the upcoming auction.
Further, Hope kept his base price at INR 50 lakh at the 2022 mega auction but still, no franchise raised their paddle to sign him. And given the Barbados-born has kept himself in the INR 1 crore bracket for the forthcoming marquee event, the chances of him getting an IPL contract are even bleaker.
