2. Fabian Allen
Fabian Allen is a ferocious striker of a cricket ball and is more than handy with his off-spin. The Caribbean all-rounder was signed by the Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2022 season but it did not work as per plan. Allen just got a single opportunity where he picked up one wicket and conceded 46 runs at an economy rate of 11.50. He did not have much impact with the bat either.
Allen was roped in to give balance to the side with his all-round prowess and finish matches with the bat. However, his inclusion meant the consumption of one overseas slot which restricted his opportunities to feature in XI. Mumbai have Sanjay Yadav in their ranks who was on fire with the bat in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Premier League. He amassed 452 in nine games at a phenomenal strike rate of 186.78 and also took six wickets.
Further, the five-time IPL champions already have finishers like Kieron Pollard and Tim David who are more than handy with the ball. Therefore, they might look to release Allen to free up an overseas slot and can rope in a player who is a better fit for the team.
