IPL 2023: 5 players Mumbai Indians might release ahead of auction
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold the auction for the league's next season in mid-December.
4. Mayank Markande
Mayank Markande created headlines in 2018 with his leg-spin bowling. Looking at his past history with MI, the franchise again gave him a chance to show his talent for the team, but the 24-year-old spinner was unsuccessful in replicating his old performances.
In the 2022 edition of the league, the youngster spent most of his time on the bench due to the rise in the ranks of Murugan Ashwin and Hrithik Shokeen. The team provided him a chance to appear in the last two matches of their season and he picked up a wicket while conceding runs at the economy of 8.14.
For the next season, MI will look to make way for some other player by freeing him. Earlier this year, MI bought the leggie for just Rs. 65 lakh on the leggie to make him a part of their campaign in 2022.
