5. Jaydev Unadkat
After having a 12-year-old IPL career, Jaydev Unadkat, in 2022, was acquired by Mumbai Indians at Rs.1.3 crore. In 2018, Unadkat attracted a whopping Rs. 11.5 crore from Rajasthan Royals. Looking at his vast IPL experience, the owners of MI and the team management made him a part of the squad, but his disappointing show with the ball contributed to the team’s poor performance in the season.
Playing in 6 matches of the season, Unadkat was ineffective with the ball as the pacer bagged just 5 wickets and gave runs at the economy of 9.50. In the crucial match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Unadkat was given the responsibility to defend 17 runs in the last over, but the pacer failed to hold his nerves as MS Dhoni smashed three boundaries to seal the win for Chennai Super Kings.
After taking note of Unadkat’s indisciplined bowling in the last edition, MI, ahead of the auction, might surely look him to release.
