Andrew Tye has been a prominent figure in the T20 circuit. He has featured in 214 matches and bagged a staggering tally of 301 wickets at an economy of 8.18. Further, the 36-year-old is no mug with the bat and has played crucial cameos slotting in lower down the order.

Tye took the Big Bash League 2022-23 by storm with his spectacular showings. He featured in 16 matches for Perth Scorchers and bagged 26 scalps at an economy of 8.45. His bowling exploits were instrumental in the Scorchers clinching their fifth BBL title.

Tye brings a wealth of experience to any side and given he is at the top of his game of late, the Chennai management could be inclined towards including the Australian pacer in the side for the forthcoming season of the lucrative T20 tournament.
