3. Nathan Coulter-Nile

Nathan Coulter-Nile has been a proven performer in the T20 circuit. The 35-year-old has featured in 146 games in the shortest format and took 170 wickets at an economy of 7.78. The bowling all-rounder also has smashed 669 runs at a strike rate of 132.21. 

Rajasthan Royals picked Coulter-Nile at his base price of INR 2 crore at the 2022 mega auction. However, the bowling all-rounder could feature in just a single game as he was sidelined from the rest of the competition due to injury. In the lone match the right-arm seamer played, he leaked runs at an alarming rate of 16.00.

Counter-Nile has been troubled by injuries on many occasions in his IPL career. In the 2014 season, when he played for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), he suffered a hamstring injury and had to miss a couple of games.  Again in the 14th edition, the Australian seamer’s stint for the Mumbai Indians was cut short due to a calf injury.

In the previous auction, it was only Rajasthan Royals who were eager to invest in Counter-Nile, and seeing his constant struggles with injuries, franchises might be hesitant to raise their paddle for the Australian all-rounder this time around. In a situation where his chances of getting a buyer are also in question, the flamboyant cricketer keeping his base price to INR 2 crore might not the best of options.
