4. Romario Shepherd
Romario Shepherd has been a proven performer in the T20 circuit. He has bagged 79 wickets in 67 matches at an economy of 9.04 and scored 533 runs at a strike rate of 141.00. Sunrisers Hyderabad looked at Romario to fill the all-round void in the team and thus, signed him at the IPL 2022 auction.
However, the 28-year-old was not able to repay the faith and had a pretty mediocre campaign in the 15th edition of the lucrative T20 tournament. Though Romario fared well with the bat smashing 58 runs in three games at a strike rate of 141.46, he had a dismal showing on the bowling front leaking runs at an economy of 10.89. SRH signed the Guyana-born at a whopping sum of INR 7.75 crore and as the right-arm pacer failed to justify the price tag, the Hyderabad franchise released him from the squad.
The West Indies all-rounder has been quite erratic with his lines and lengths in the shortest format and this is evident from his high economy rate. Talking about the T20Is, he has leaked runs at an economy rate of 10.51. Given Romario has been plagued by inconsistency time and again, many franchises might not raise their paddles to pick him at the IPL 2023 auction. Thus, the ace all-rounder is expected to go for price lower than the previous season.
