3. Odean Smith
Odean Smith was sensational in the 2021 season of the Caribbean Premier League and showed his all-round might on numerous occasions. He bagged 18 wickets in 11 matches at an economy of 7.54 and smashed 126 runs at a strike rate of 132.63. Punjab Kings signed the West Indies all-rounder at the 2022 mega auction to add depth to the side.
However, he was not able to perform as per expectations. Though he took six wickets in as many games, the Jamaica-born conceded runs at an alarming rate of 11.87. On the batting front, he could only manage 51 runs at a strike rate of 115.91. Due to the ace all-rounder's awful performances, PBKS decided against retaining him for the next season.
Smith will now go under the hammer at the upcoming auction. The right-arm pacer went for INR 6 crore at the 2022 mega auction but as the 26-year-old faltered with both bat and ball in the previous edition, many franchises might not be eager to sign him.
