1. Kieron Pollard
Kieron Pollard has been a giant of a player in the T20 circuit. The 35-year-old has featured in 614 games in the shortest format and amassed an insane tally of 11915 runs at a stunning strike rate of 150.25. Also, he has been a wily customer with the ball and bagged 309 scalps at an economy of 8.22.
The T20 legend has stamped his authority in the Indian Premier League as well. He has knocked the winds out of top-quality bowling attacks with his power-hitting might. In the 189 matches that Pollard has played in the IPL, the veteran all-rounder has smashed 3412 runs at a strike rate of 147.32.
Further, he has provided crucial breakthroughs to Mumbai Indians and picked a total of 69 wickets at an economy of 8.79. The Trinidad-born has been central to the success of Mumbai Indians in the cash-rich league.
However, fans will not witness Pollard’s batting exploits at the IPL stage going ahead as he has announced his retirement from the league. The West Indies all-rounder made this revelation on November 15, hours before IPL 2023 retention deadline was about to end. He will now be donning the hat as batting coach for the Mumbai Indians in the lucrative T20 tournament.
An excerpt from Pollard's statement read "It hasn't been the easiest decision to make as I will keep playing for a few more years, but I understand that this incredible franchise which has achieved so much needs to transition and if I'm no longer to play for MI then I cannot see myself playing against MI either, Once an MI always an MI."
