4. Punjab Kings 

Punjab Kings signed Odean Smith at the 2022 mega auction to fill the all-round void in the team. However, the West Indies all-rounder failed to deliver the goods with both bat and ball. The 26-year-old could manage mere 51 runs in six games at a strike rate of 115.91 and conceded runs at an alarming rate of 11.87. 

Following Odean’s awful outings, the Punjab franchise released him from the squad. The team management also moved past Benny Howell ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. Presently, PBKS does not have gun seam-bowling all-rounders on their side. Though they have Rishi Dhawan in the mix, the 32-year-old was quite awful with the bat last season scoring just 37 runs in six games at a strike rate of 92.50.

Punjab will enter the auction with INR 32.2 crore in their kitty and they could invest a major chunk of the money in signing top-drawer all-rounders at the marquee event. The think tank could try to pick someone like Green, who has shown his all-round might in the international arena time and time again. Therefore, PBKS bidding for the Australian cricketer is certainly on the cards.
