IPL 2023: 5 teams that might target Adam Zampa at upcoming auction

The wrist spinners have a natural ability to take wickets. They are the ones who put their team ahead during the middle-overs. They add a spicy flavor to T20 cricket.

Like the earlier IPL auctions, IPL 2023 auction can also be a blessing for the leg-spinners. There are a few teams that still do not have a quality leg spinner so there can be bidding wars for the leg spinners who have signed up for the auction.

One of them is Australia's Adam Zampa. Zampa is a world-class leg spinner and a few teams can go berserk to rope him in at the auction.

Here are five teams that are expected to target Adam Zampa at the auction:

1. Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Hyderabad-based franchise is in search of a solid leg-spinner since the departure of Rashid Khan from their squad. Rashid Khan was one of their biggest match-winners. He did very well for the franchise. After Rashid's departure, their bowling has been ordinary. They need a leader in their bowling line-up.

The last couple of seasons have been very ordinary for the franchise. They looked completely out of rhythm on a few instances. They are the ones who will be the most active at the upcoming auction. SRH will need some match-winners in their squad and Zampa can be a good candidate for them. The Aussie will bring a lot of quality to their bowling line-up.

Their home ground (Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium) is not considered a high-scoring ground. Due to the big dimensions of the ground, leg spinners have a very good chance of getting success there. Rashid used to do the same for them. They have Washington Sundar already in the squad and the Zampa-Sundar duo can be a threat, especially for the overseas batters.
