4. Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals did an amazing job at the 2022 mega auction to assemble a well-rounded squad with a nice blend of youth and experience and they certainly reaped dividends of the same, finishing at the runners-up position. However, RR appeared to struggle constantly to find the right balance of their team.

Rajasthan had Daryl Mitchell and James Neesham to contribute in both departments but neither of them were able to perform as per expectations. Neesham could manage 31 runs in two matches at a strike rate of 114.81 and was not able to have any impact with the ball. Talking about Mitchell, he scored mere 33 runs in two games at a strike rate of 75.00.

RR also had Nathan Coulter-Nile for the 2022 season but he played just a single match before getting sidelined from the rest of the tournament due to injury. In that lone game he played, he conceded runs at an alarming rate of 16.00.

The team management decided against retaining the overseas trio for the upcoming IPL season. Presently, Sanju Samson & co. does not have a seam-bowling all-rounder in their arsenal and thus, they are likely to go shopping for multi-faceted cricketers at the auction.

However, Rajasthan only have INR 13.2 crore in their kitty which might not be enough to pick the likes of Curran, Stokes, or Green. Therefore, they could look at Sams, who has proven his all-round credentials in the T20 circuit time and time again.
