1. Tushar Deshpande
One of the most surprising names on the list is Tushar Deshpande. The Mumbai-born was like any other rookie seamer trying to mark his bowling skills. The pacer has been in the IPL circuit for quite some time as he played for the Delhi Capitals but had less impact compared to other debutants and as a result, Delhi Capitals (DC) released him. In an interesting turn of events for the youngster, Deshpande got a chance to join the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp as a net bowler which changed his fate.
Last season, he turned up for them for two matches only. But this year, the 27-year-old has turned himself into a beast. In the absence of first-choice seamers, MS Dhoni showed his faith and groomed him under his leadership. Looking at his bowling exploits in the ongoing 2023 edition, Tushar Deshpande has justified Dhoni's faith in him.
With 19 wickets already in 12 matches, Tushar has been one of the contenders for the coveted IPL Purple cap. Although he's leaked runs he's strike is superb i.e. 12.11. Deshpande is delivering his best for the yellow army. If a situation arises, we may see him in the blue jersey as well.
