The experienced campaigner has been an impressive performer in Indian conditions. He is an Indian has played in the IPL for various teams, including the Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab, and Chennai Super Kings. MI bagged him in the IPL 2023 auction due to his experience and track record.
Over all these years, the right-arm leg-spinner is known for his accuracy and variations. He made his IPL debut in 2008 and has played 165 matches in the tournament, taking over 150 wickets.
Chawla is a reliable performer who has consistently delivered for his teams in the IPL and will be looking to continue his good form in the IPL 2023 as well.

One of the top left-arm pacers in the Australian circles, Jason Behrendorff has done well for the Aussies in whatsoever limited opportunities he has got so far in his international career. In the 12 ODI games that he has played for the Aussies, Behrendorff has bagged 16 scalps at a good economy rate of 5.28.
He will be asked to step up and rise to the ocassion in the absence of Jhye Richardson who won't feature in the upcoming edition due to a hamstring injury. Jhye's injury is a major blow to Mumbai and they'll expect Behrendorff to do the heavy lifting alongside Jofra Archer.
Behrendorff gets good shape early on with the new ball and it helps him in making early inroads. If he could do the same for the Rohit Sharma-led side in the forthcoming edition then they will be highly benefitted.

The English pacer, Jofra Archer was picked by MI in IPL 2022 despite injuries as a part of their future plan. Moreover, he was retained as well ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. To MI’s delight, Archer is now fully fit and was also named in the ODI squad for the South Africa series.
Archer has played 121 T20s and scalped 153 wickets at an economy of 7.65. He has been impressive in the IPL as well from 2018 to 2020. To date, the 27-year-old has bagged 46 wickets in 35 IPL games.
Until the time when IPL 2023 arrives, Archer would have gained sufficient match practice and will be ready for the season. He will be a confirmed overseas player in the XI.

Jasprit Bumrah is highly unlikely to feature in the forthcoming IPL as he has recently undergone a back surgery in New Zealand and is recuperating at the moment. Bumrah’s IPL performances and international performances have been top-notch in crunch moments and hence his absence will be major blow for Mumbai.
So far, Bumrah has bagged 145 wickets in 120 games at an economy of 7.39, which is decent in the shortest format. In IPL 2019, the speedster took 19 wickets in 16 games and followed it up with 27 wickets in the subsequent editions. As a result, the team lifted the titles in both editions.
Filling Bumrah's massive void won't be easy for Mumbai but they can trust their young Turk in Akash Madhwal to give some impressive performances in the upcoming edition. He was roped in by MI in May 2022 as a replacement for Suryakumar Yadav at the price of INR 20 lakh after the latter got injured.
He picked up nine wickets in seven games for Uttarakhand in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at an economy rate of 7.20. If given an opportunity, he'll look to impress with his calibre.
