With every passing day, the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Premier League</a> is outgrowing itself. The sixth week of the IPL was an exciting one as the fans witnessed some extraordinary level of cricket. We witnessed a thriller between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad as Abdul Samad managed to smash a six off the last ball to help Sunrisers pull off a miracle victory. Adding on, Delhi’s winning streak was over as a dominant bowling performance helped Chennai Super Kings beat them, thus adding more drama to the tournament.<o:p></o:p>

Apart from that, we witnessed the fastest half-century in the history of the tournament as&nbsp;Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a quick-fire fifty in just 13 balls. The Mumbai-based batsman is knocking on the doors of the Indian Cricket Team for sure. Well, to have a better understanding of how the sixth week panned out, let us have a look at the best XI from the sixth week of the current edition of the IPL:<o:p></o:p>

1. Yashasvi Jaiswal (Rajasthan Royals)

From selling panipuri to becoming the "next big thing” in Indian Cricket, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-news/these-players-should-be-fast-tracked-ravi-shastri-bats-for-yashasvi-jaiswal-and-rinku-singhs-prompt-national-selection/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yashasvi Jaiswal</a> has come a long way. Things were never easy for the left-hander as he had to overcome numerous obstacles to reach the limelight. But, his grit, determination, and perseverance have helped Jaiswal to reach the epitome of success.<o:p></o:p>

Jaiswal had started the sixth week with a 14-run knock against Gujarat Titans. During that game, he was not able to give the team a solid start as he fell short of his crease while trying to steal a run, courtesy of Rashid Khan. But, things soon turned upside down for Kolkata Knight Riders in the next match, where they witnessed how talented the southpaw is.

<o:p></o:p>During their final game of the week, the Rajasthan bowlers made a decent comeback and restricted Knight Riders to 149 runs. During the chase, Jaiswal went on to smash Nitish Rana all around the ground in the very first over. In this process, he scored the fastest fifty in the history of the tournament and his attacking approach enables him to open the innings in this XI.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

2.&nbsp;Wriddhiman Saha (Gujarat Titans) (Wicket-keeper)<o:p></o:p>

Nevertheless, Saha has been motivated enough to provide Gujarat with the perfect start every time.<o:p></o:p>

During a modest chase of 119 runs against RR, Saha went on to score a fluent 41 runs from 34 balls. His partnership with Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya ensured that there were no hiccups from the defending champions. Later on, during an afternoon game, Gujarat Titans were on a rampage as their openers went all guns blazing against Lucknow Super Giants.<o:p></o:p>

In the first innings, Saha went on to smash 81 runs from 43 balls and stitched a beautiful partnership with Gill. The Bengal-based keeper has been in fluent touch and his tally of 10 fours and four sixes is a great example of his touch. <o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

3. Mitchell Marsh (Delhi Capitals)<o:p></o:p>

After a horrible start to the season, Delhi Capitals have managed to make a decent comeback. Even though their chances to qualify for the playoffs have been a long-lost dream following their last defeat against Punjab Kings, they did manage to put up some respectable performances in the league. The star for them has been Mitchell Marsh, who has contributed to every aspect of the game.<o:p></o:p>

During their first game of the week against Royal Challengers Bangalore, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-news/australia-450-2-india-all-out-65-mitchell-marshs-bold-prediction-for-2023-odi-world-cup-summit-clash/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mitchell Marsh</a> picked up two wickets by giving away just 21 runs. During his spell, he managed to pick up the crucial wickets of Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell. This helped Capitals to put a break on the run rate as well.<o:p></o:p>

While the crowd was treated to a Phil Salt special, Marsh did contribute to the chase as he scored 26 runs from 17 balls. This was a crucial contribution as he ensured that there was no batting collapse after the wicket of David Warner. Unfortunately, Marsh was run out during the game against Chennai Super Kings but was able to pick up three wickets in his three overs, giving away just 18 runs in his spell.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

4.&nbsp;Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals)<o:p></o:p>

Rajasthan Royals had a bittersweet time during the sixth week of the Indian Premier League. Even though few of their players clicked in the games, they failed on two occasions as a team. Talking about impactful players, their skipper,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-press-release/sanju-samson-doesnt-lose-his-calm-doesnt-lose-his-cool-and-is-like-a-young-ms-dhoni-graeme-swann/">Sanju Samson</a>, was in sublime touch throughout the week.<o:p></o:p>

In the first game of the week, Samson managed to score 30 runs from 20 balls and was the only impactful contributor for the Royals during their game against Gujarat Titans. Later on, Samson managed to score a quickfire 68 from 38 balls as Rajasthan managed to post a strong total of 214 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Unfortunately, this was not enough as Sandeep Sharma overstepped and bowled a no-ball, following which, Abdul Samad smashed a six off the subsequent free-hit to finish off the game.<o:p></o:p>

But, this should not take the limelight away from Sanju Samson. Mainly because, even after the no-ball debacle, he managed to lead from the front and thanks to his captaincy, Kolkata Knight Riders managed to put up just 149 runs in their 20 overs. In return, Samson and Jaiswal went on to smash the KKR bowlers as the skipper scored 48 runs from 29 balls in the chase.<o:p></o:p>&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

5. Suryakumar Yadav (Mumbai Indians)<o:p></o:p>

Without any doubt, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-news/genius-is-the-word-tom-moody-awestruck-by-suryakumar-yadavs-devastating-knock-against-gujarat-titans/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Suryakumar Yadav</a> is one of the best T20 batsmen on the planet. He seems to have answers to all the problems the bowlers put up and has been unstoppable in the past few games for Mumbai. Even after a horrible ODI series and the first few weeks of IPL, Surya has managed to pull things back.<o:p></o:p>

During a tough away game against Chennai Super Kings, Surya and Nehal Wadhera managed to put up a fight and thanks to them, Mumbai managed to put up 139 runs on the board. But, this was never enough as the informed CSK batters easily chased down the target. In this game, he managed to score 26 runs from 22 balls even after a top-order collapse.<o:p></o:p>

Later on, Mumbai Indians faced their arch-rivals, Royal Challengers Bangalore. While batting first, RCB had set up a target of 200 runs and in reply, MI chased it down in just 16.3 overs. The star of the game was Surya, who went on to smash 83 runs from just 35 balls.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

6. Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Giants) (captain)<o:p></o:p>

He has been able to find the perfect playing XI, as a result of which, his team has been dominating the league. Throughout the tournament, it has been difficult to restrict Gujarat Titans both with the bat and ball.<o:p></o:p>

In their first encounter with Rajasthan Royals, Pandya went on to smash 39 runs from 15 balls. His attacking approach helped Titans chase the target in just 13.5 overs, which helped them to boost their run rate. Adding on, Pandya was spot-on with his captaincy throughout the game and was able to rotate the bowlers properly.<o:p></o:p>

During the game against Lucknow Super Giants, Pandya once again contributed impactfully with the bat. In just 15 balls, he scored 25 runs and managed to keep the momentum with Titans. A decent bowling performance and captaincy meant that Gujarat Titans were unbeaten for the whole week.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

7.&nbsp;Ravindra Jadeja (Chennai Super Kings)<o:p></o:p>

This year, the best thing about Chennai Super Kings is that they have a plethora of experience and quality in their batting order. Adding on to their spin department is one of the best in the tournament and hence, they have been able to choke their opponents in the middle overs. In the above-mentioned departments, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/social-tracker-cricket/ravindra-jadeja-likes-controversial-post-about-feeling-pain-trauma-in-csk-under-ms-dhonis-captaincy-3449/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ravindra Jadeja</a> has been an integral part, and he has been able to pick crucial wickets in need, just like he dismissed the dangerous Suryakumar Yadav during the all-important game against Mumbai Indians.<o:p></o:p>

As CSK were hosting DC on their home turf, they had a shaky start as both their openers were back in the dressing room after the powerplay. Realizing that the pitch is on the slower side, the batsmen played accordingly. But in the end, they needed a strong finish and it was provided by Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni.<o:p></o:p>

Jadeja went on to score 21 runs from 16 balls and gave CSK the push they needed to pose a challenging total. Later on, Jadeja bowled an impressive spell as he gave away just 19 runs from his four overs. He picked up the crucial wicket of Rilee Rossouw in the process as well.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

8.&nbsp;Rashid Khan (Gujarat Titans)

With <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-news/almighty-has-been-benevolent-on-gt-as-they-got-a-world-class-cricketer-in-rashid-khan-mohammad-kaif/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rashid Khan</a> leading the spin department of Gujarat Titans, there is no surprise that they have been one of the best teams in terms of spin bowling. The Afghan-based all-rounder has etched his name as one of the greatest spinners in the history of the format. His presence has helped Noor Ahmad to become a quality leg spinner as well.<o:p></o:p>

During their encounter against Rajasthan Royals, Rashid, and Noor destroyed their batting lineup and both picked up five wickets in between them. Talking about Rashid, he picked up three wickets for just 14 runs in his four overs. An economy rate of 3.50 speaks volumes about his impact on the game.<o:p></o:p>

Later on, against the Lucknow Super Giants, Rashid gave away 34 runs in his four overs. During his spell, he picked up the crucial wicket of Quinton de Kock, who was playing beautifully. Adding on, this wicket opened the door for a huge batting collapse for LSG and Rashid Khan was an instrumental contributor in this effort.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

9.&nbsp;Deepak Chahar (Chennai Super Kings)<o:p></o:p>

In the first game of the week for Super Kings, Chahar picked up two wickets and gave away just 18 runs in three overs. He managed to grab the wickets of Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma in quick succession. This enabled the Chennai bowlers to put pressure on their opposition because of which, MI managed to score only 139 runs in their 20 overs.<o:p></o:p>

Later on, during the game against Delhi Capitals, Chahar gave Chennai a perfect start as he picked the wicket of David Warner in the first over of the innings. Adding on, he went on to dismiss an in-form Phil Salt in the third over as well. In three overs, he gave away 28 runs and grabbed two crucial wickets for the four-time champions.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

10. Matheesha Pathirana (Chennai Super Kings)&nbsp;

He had an impressive economy rate of 3.75 during the game and he managed to grab the wickets of Nehal Wadhera, Arshad Khan, and Tristan Stubbs. Thanks to Pathirana, Mumbai Indians managed to put up a modest total of 139 runs on the board.<o:p></o:p>

His skills were on display yet again against Delhi Capitals as he went on to pick up three wickets in his four overs. This time, he went on to pick up the wickets of Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, and Lalit Yadav. Luckily for MS Dhoni, Pathirana has been one of CSK's best death-over bowlers as well and it looks like he is here to stay in the Chennai-based franchise for quite some time.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>

Even though his efforts were not enough to drag Royals over the victory line, he continued his great form against Kolkata Knight Riders as well. In the last game of the week, Chahal picked up another four-wicket haul by giving away just 25 runs in his four overs. Eventually, he was overshadowed by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who destroyed the KKR bowling lineup.
