5. Anrich Nortje
Anrich Nortje has become an essential part of Delhi Capitals (DC) due to his fiery fast bowling. Playing the 2022 IPL season for the franchise, the Protea hunted nine batters in six games at an economy of 9.71. Despite his miserable economy in the 2022 edition, the franchise didn’t lose faith in the speedster and retained him for the 16th installment of the league.
His recent form and spectacular bowling figures in T20 Internationals (T20Is) played a major role in him receiving support from his IPL team. The lanky pacer has played 29 T20I matches for his national team South Africa and has racked up 35 wickets at a fabulous economy of 7.11.
In the T20 World Cup 2022, he delivered incredible match-winning performances to his side. Fetching 11 wickets in five matches at an economy of 5.37, he emerged as the most successful bowler for his team. Noting these numbers of the 29-year-old, his franchise was looking forward to witnessing his best side with the ball in the T20 extravaganza ahead. However, before the tournament, there are some doubts regarding his participation in the mega event as he is yet to recover from an injury.
