IPL 2023: Flop XI from fifth week
These players delivered disappointing numbers to their respective teams in the fifth week of the T20 tournament.
10. Arshdeep Singh
During the first half of the tournament, Punjab Kings (PBKS) won a few matches due to stunning bowling displays from Arshdeep Singh. However, things changed for him in the previous week as he became an easy target for batters in back-to-back high-scoring matches.
In the 38th game of the league, Lucknow Super Giants’ batters demolished the PBKS bowling attack and notched up the second-highest IPL score (257/5). Throughout LSG innings, Punjab bowlers struggled to put up a fight and Arshdeep was not an exception as Lucknow batters plundered 54 runs in his four overs and gave only one wicket to the pacer.
His horrendous form followed him in his next two matches played in Chennai and Mohali. Against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI), the 24-year-old again got hammered and ended up with bowling figures of 1/37 and 1/66, against the quality CSK and MI sides, respectively.
