IPL 2023: Flop XI from fifth week
These players delivered disappointing numbers to their respective teams in the fifth week of the T20 tournament.
9. Kagiso Rabada
Kagiso Rabada is an integral part of the Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) bowling line-up. As a premier speedster, his responsibility is to bolster the team with his discipline pace bowling, along with other key pacers Sam Curran and Arshdeep Singh. However, the Protea hasn’t shown his best with the ball in this competition.
In his team’s 56-run defeat at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Rabada looked completely out of colour. Completing four overs, he picked up a couple of wickets but also leaked 52 runs. His expensive spell cost the team as LSG put up a colossal total of 257 on the board.
Against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Cheapuk, PBKS took the game away in the last ball of the game but Rabada again lacked confidence with the ball. In Punjab’s thrilling victory, Rabada couldn’t scalp any wickets and also conceded 34 runs in his four-over spell.
