7. Deepak Hooda
Deepak Hooda is known for his incredible batting potential to clear the fence. His incredible power-hitting ability makes him an ideal finisher for his IPL franchise, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In the 30th match of this year’s tournament, Hooda had a perfect chance to flaunt his match-fishing skills against Gujarat Titans (GT).
Against the quality GT side, LSG bowlers worked brilliantly and foiled GT’s aim to put up a huge total on the board. Following a low total of 136, LSG openers KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers started positively and racked up more than 50 runs within the powerplay. Things got complicated for Super Giants as their defensive approach backfired following the debacle of their key batters.
In the last three deliveries, Lucknow needed 10 off three and this could have been a perfect situation for Hooda to deliver a heroic moment to his team. However, the 28-year-old choked at the moment and got run out while completing the second run. His dismissal on two sealed the defeat of Lucknow in the contest.
