1. Ben Stokes
Teams have always looked eager to splurge money every time Ben Stokes has made himself available at the auction. Rajasthan Royals bought him for INR 12.5 crore in the 2018 edition and since then he has represented the franchise across four seasons. After a break in the 2022 edition, England’s red-ball captain will be back and teams are once again expected to spend a lot of money to sign him for the 16th edition of the tournament.
The 31-year-old has played 43 matches in the cash-rich league and scored 920 runs at a strike rate of 134.50. With the ball, he has picked up 28 wickets at an economy of 8.56. In the last few years, Stokes has proved himself as a clutch player and delivered multiple match-winning performances for England and his recent performance against Pakistan is the best example of it.
Courtesy of the same, he will be on the radar of multiple franchises. As he is also an experienced captain, teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings can bid heavily for him. However, teams like LSG, MI and CSK, who need a batting all-rounder in the middle order might also go after him at the auction.
