2. Dasun Shanaka

Last year, Dasun Shanaka showcased his leadership skills as Sri Lanka pulled off the Asia Cup trophy under his captaincy after eight years. Not just as a skipper, but as a batter too, he displayed his class playing a couple of crucial knocks for the team in do-or-die contests.

Considering his potential, SRH should’ve fetched him at the mini-auction. As no franchise showed interest in him in the event, he could’ve turned out to be a lucrative deal for the Sunrisers due to his all-round abilities. In the must-win match against India, he produced match-finishing innings of 33 runs off 18 balls.

Instead of buying Klaasen, signing Shanaka at his base price of INR 50 lakh could’ve been a better idea. As the Sunrisers already had Glenn Phillips as their wicket-keeper batter, they should’ve included the Sri Lanka skipper for the upcoming season as he could contribute to the team with both bat and ball.
