Marcus Stoinis provided a match-winning contribution against the table-toppers Rajasthan Royals in match no. 26. Stoinis came out to bat at 5, he started off with a boundary to Ashwin. He continued to rotate the strike to keep the scorecard going.

Though he didn't time big shots but played a vital innings of 21 off 16 before edging one to Samson. Considering the two-paced nature of the track, this short cameo proved to be crucial in deciding the outcome of the game.

When the RR openers were going strong, Stoinis came in the 12th over, he gave them the much-needed breakthrough of Yashasvi Jaiswal and broke the opening stand of 87 runs. From that point, the game started to move towards Super Giants.

Then he sent the dangerous Jos Buttler back to the pavilion to make the match more interesting. His change of pace, back of length deliveries did the trick. Though he got some late punishment from Devdutt Padikkal, it wasn't enough for Rajasthan to pull off a victory there.

Stoinis was bought by the Lucknow franchise in the draft for a whopping 9.2 crore. But he had a disappointing tournament compared to his stature in the IPL 2022. But this time, he's getting the runs as well and the only time he bowled, he got wickets as well.
