IPL 2023: Top 5 batting performances from third week
From Devon Conway's masterclass to Venkatesh Iyer's blazing ton, there have been several sensational knocks in the third week of the competition.
1. Venkatesh Iyer 104(51) vs MI
Venkatesh Iyer broke KKR's 15-year century drought in week three, which also saw the highest individual score of IPL 2023. During a match against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the left-hander scored 104 runs off just 51 balls.
Iyer, the only KKR batter to maintain his wicket for the majority of the innings after being given the opportunity to bat first, engaged MI in a solitary battle. He looked like he was batting on a completely different surface and put on a show in the City of Dreams.
Venkatesh was the only ray of sunshine for the visitors as the MI bowlers continued to pick up wickets from one end. Before completing his first IPL century in just 49 balls, he reached his fifty in just 23 balls.
