4. Moeen Ali’s 4/26 vs Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) returned to their home venue Chepauk after almost four years. Hosting the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), CSK batters put up an all round show and helped their team win the contest. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway played a crucial role in revitalising the team and propelled the side to 217.
Following the massive total, LSG got a positive start due to the fierce batting style of Kyle Mayers. However, his beautiful knock came to an end after scoring 53 runs off 22 deliveries. The left-handed batter got trapped by Moeen Ali, who got him caught at the hands of Devon Conway.
Emboldened by Mayer’s scalp, the off-spinner picked the LSG skipper Rahul and Krunal Pandya as well in his second and third over respectively. On the second delivery of his last over, the veteran hunted Marcus Stoinis down and ended the partnership between the Aussie and Nicholas Pooran to take the team over the line.
