5. Tom Latham

Probably the finest batter in New Zealand at present, Tom Latham has a solid technique and composure to score runs in crunch situations. He has primarily been a red-ball batter while holding an average of 40.55 in Tests.

In 117 ODIs, Latham has scored 3382 runs at an average of 36.36 but holds an average of 24.76 in the T20I format. The southpaw last featured for the Kiwis in T20Is in September 2021, and since then has been out of the side.

Most teams have their bases covered in terms of their top-order batters. They need a proficient middle-order batter, an all-rounder with rich T20 experience. Therefore, Latham might fall short of securing an IPL contract.
