2. Gujarat Titans vs Delhi Capitals, Match 44
Gujarat Titans (GT) played a fierce brand of cricket in the league round and ended up as the table toppers. Out of their 14 matches, they lost only four games, of which one was against Delhi Capitals (DC), who struggled to be among the wins throughout the competition.
At the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, Titans hosted DC in match 44. DC skipper, David Warner won the toss and opted to bat first. Warner’s decision went against him as Mohammed Shami wreaked havoc on DC’s top order by sending half of their team back to the pavilion in the powerplay overs.
However, Aman Hakim Khan’s 51-run knock helped DC to reach a respectable score of 130/8 in the end. Defending the total, DC bowlers displayed their efficiency with the ball and secured a five-run triumph for their team.
