3. Virender Sehwag
The former India batter Virender Sehwag was known for delivering explosive starts to India in international cricket. In the IPL as well, he did the same for his franchises with his incredible batting talent. In his eight years of league career, he featured for two teams; Delhi Capitals (DC) from 2008-13 and Punjab Kings (PBKS) from 2014-15.
In the league’s inaugural edition, the right-hander showcased his class scoring 406 runs for DC in 14 games at an enormous strike rate of 184.54. His best IPL performance came in 2012, when he chalked up 495 runs in 16 matches at an excellent strike rate of 161.23.
In 2014, the flamboyant batter joined Punjab Kings (PBKS) and racked up 455 runs in 17 matches at a strike rate of 144.44. In 2015, he announced his retirement from all forms of the sport, which brought down curtains on his IPL career too. The 44-year-old scored 2,728 runs in 104 matches at a phenomenal strike rate of 155.44.
