Rajasthan Royals (RR) couldn’t satiate their fans in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) but they will endeavour to clinch the trophy in the upcoming instalment of the tournament. At the 2024 IPL auction held in Dubai, Royals fetched South Africa pacer Nandre Burger and India’s domestic player Abid Mushtaq to provide more power to their bowling unit.
In the previous season, Rajasthan’s bowling looked spectacular in a few matches under their bowling spearhead Trent Boult. This time, their supporters will expect them to be disciplined in all departments of the game and douse the trophy thirst that has been going on since 2009. With the competition only a few days away, let’s have a look at three bowlers who can make RR champions after 16 years.
Here are three bowlers to watch out for in RR:
3. Sandeep Sharma
Sandeep Sharma became a part of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2023 after Prasidh Krishna’s injury. Serving RR’s pace attack efficiently, he took 10 wickets in 12 matches at an economy of 8.61. In the upcoming competition, RR fans will expect Sandeep to deliver their team better numbers with the ball.
Sandeep has a lot of experience in the cash-rich league and his team will want him to utilise his experience and cause damage to opponents. Along with the left-arm pacer Boult, he can add a variety to RR’s fast-bowling unit as the right-arm speedster can also swing the ball both ways.
