The 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is all set to take place in Dubai on December 19, 2023, and ahead of the massive business extravaganza, some players are the favourites to receive lucrative contracts. Travis Head, Rachin Ravindra, Harry Brook, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood might get picked up at hefty prices.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who concluded their journey in the sixth spot in the 2023 IPL edition, severed the ties with 11 players before the auction. Following this move, the franchise has a remaining purse amount of INR 23.25 crore. Challengers will back themselves to clinch the trophy in 2024 and in the IPL 2024 auction, they will look to snap up some match-winning international players to get the desired results in the competition.

Here are three capped players RCB might go after in the 2024 auction

3. Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins led Australia from the front in the 2023 World Cup and guided the team to the record-extending sixth World Cup title. He scalped 15 wickets in 11 matches at an economy of 5.75 in the One-Day International (ODI) event played in India. In the 2023 IPL edition, he was one of the major absentees as he opted to stay away from the tournament for the preparation of the crucial International Cricket Council (ICC) events.

In 2024, he is looking to make a comeback in the cash-rich league and his name will go under the hammer, with a base amount of INR 2 crore. RCB might show interest in Cummins as they have parted ways with quality pacers Josh Hazlewood and Harshal Patel. Following the departure of both fast bowlers, Challengers will require a pace spearhead in their squad.

Cummins is not only known for his excellent bowling but also his spunky batting. In 2022, he notched up a 14-ball fifty for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Mumbai Indians (MI). The Aussie skipper will add depth to RCB’s batting unit with his exceptional all-round talent.
