IPL 2024: 5 Underrated players who can earn big at auction
Ahead of the business event, let’s discuss five underrated players who might get big money.
3. Phil Salt
Phil Salt hasn’t made it to Delhi Capital’s (DC) retain list for the IPL 2024. The England batter played nine games for Delhi in 2023 and amassed only 218 runs at an ordinary average of 27.25. His non-performance led to his exclusion from DC’s squad but he might be seen bagging a heavy amount in the upcoming auction.
In the 2023 Hundred Men’s competition, Salt looked in amazing touch with his bat. He notched up 232 runs in 10 games at a stupendous strike rate of 194.95 and ended up as the fourth-highest run-getter in the tournament. The 27-year-old’s batting record is stunning for England in T20Is and that might tempt some franchises to invest money in him for the 2024 season.
Wearing England’s colourful jersey, he has struck 308 runs in 16 T20Is at a brilliant strike rate of 148.79. Salt, who enjoys batting in the upper order and middle order, might receive a big amount from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the auction. Hyderabad got rid of Harry Brook a few days back and they will require an experienced batter for the next IPL edition.
