After the phenomenal World Cup campaign, Australia batter Travis Head will be one of the favourites in the upcoming auction to emerge as the costliest player in the auction. The southpaw looked in excellent touch in the ODI extravaganza, smashing 329 runs with two tons and a fifty.

Following his extraordinary batting show, franchises will be tempted to buy him in the auction. Head served RCB in 2016 and 2017 and during those two years, he scored only 205 runs in 10 outings at a strike rate of 138.51. After 2017, the 29-year-old participated in the 2018 and 2023 auctions but went unsold.

In the 2024 auction, the Aussie stalwart’s base price will be INR 2 crore but his current form is expected to help him pull off a lucrative contract. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have released Harry Brook after witnessing his horrendous form and now, they might target Head in the auction to reinforce their batting unit.
