In the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in Dubai, a huge amount was spent on some overseas players. The league has returned with its much-awaited 2024 edition and fans have now witnessed the first week of the competition. As some foreign players had got huge chunks of money at the business event in Dubai, several fans were eager to witness how these players would fare.
Following the action in the first week, it can be said some overseas players looked extraordinary and justified their roles while some struggled to be at their best and their responsibilities will be to regain their form this week. 1. Travis Head
Australia top-order batter Travis Head made his comeback in the league after seven years with his magnificent 62-run knockoff 24 balls against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Batting as an opener, he gave an ideal start to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The southpaw completed his half-century in just 18 deliveries and surpassed David Warner’s feat for the fastest fifty for SRH. However, Head held the record for a few minutes as Abhishek Sharma shattered his feat with a 16-ball fifty.
